Effective August 1, 2018, Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Michel is joining G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG as an additional member of the management. On January 1, 2019 he will succeed Dr.-Ing. Hans Fechner, who is retiring after many years of successful service, as the spokesman for the management of the Siempelkamp Group.

Christoph Michel studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart and later, on a part-time basis while working full-time, earned an MBA degree from Duke University, USA. He can look back on 18 years of experience in mechanical and large-scale plant engineering.

After he first worked as a development and project engineer for ABB and Alstom, he joined the GEA Group in 2001. There he managed the areas of corporate development, mergers & acquisitions, and strategy. He also held various operative management positions. Most recently, he was the CEO responsible for the GEA Heat Exchangers business unit. He successfully man-aged this internationally acting group of machine and plant engineering companies which was later sold by GEA to a financial investor.
