The German producer price indices for beech showed a clear upward development in December 2022. On average, the index for log wood rose by 2,0% to 139,6 points. B qualities reached the level of 136,1 points ( 6,1% ), to which 3 m lengths contributed with 2,5% to 120,8 points – and 5 m lengths with 8,4% to 139,9 .
C qualities in December reached 136,6 points ( 2,1% ) – in 3 m lengths 130,2 ( 3,3% ). 5 m lengths reached 126,7 points ( 1,6% ).
For oak pulpwood Destatis calculated an index of 106,9 points ( 3,4% ). Pulpwood of beech reached 124,8 points ( 5,1% ). The hardwood pulpwood index arrived at 122,1 points ( 4,9% ).
