By the 1st of July, wood, pulp and paper industry and the pellet plants have reduced prices for sawmill residues by € 1 per m³ (bulk). High cutting in some large sawmills coincided with the seasonal low demand for wood products. Deliveries were apportioned, and sometimes they have been cut out for two weeks.
In southern Germany, lowest prices are being paid in the Black Forest region. The elimination of the Kronospan plant in Bischweier becomes noticeable. Pellet silos are already well filled with finished goods for the winter season. Smaller sawmills report an increased demand for slabs and splinters. The packs are popular in small power plants to storage fuelwood.
